Technical Assistance

For the past 30 years, Futures Without Violence has been working to advance innovation across the health and DV fields to promote prevention, and better meet the needs of survivors.

FUTURES provided technical assistance, training, and support for the Domestic Violence and Health Care Partnership project and convened a unique and adaptive hands-on Learning Network to engage four cohorts comprised of 19 partnerships. The Learning Network facilitated learning exchange, community building, and leadership.

The Learning Network fostered a dynamic forum for exchange among teams increasing their knowledge and capacity to promote prevention, improve assessment and response, and implement culturally responsive and trauma-informed changes in their practice and policy.

Technical Assistance:

Ongoing technical assistance was provided in diverse formats to:

  • Encourage quality improvements
  • Cultivate leadership
  • Share innovation and best practices
  • Promote sustainability
  • Celebrate successes

“We benefited from the expert assistance provided by FUTURES. The consistency of meetings, webinars, trainings and team building among grantees provided an environment of support. Their dedication and follow up was key in helping us to problem solve, think outside the box and celebrate our accomplishments. Had it not been for their guidance and support, we would not have been as successful as we were.”

—Rebeca Melendez, East Los Angeles Women’s Center at LAC+USC Medical Center

FUTURES partnered with the University of Pittsburg, La Piana, John Snow Inc. (JSI) and Prevention Institute to bring an added dimension of knowledge, experience, and perspective to DVHCP program planning, resource development and technical assistance. Collectively, these partners enhanced technical assistance by offering content-area expertise and support to all 19 partnerships.
